Roger and Norah-Lynne
We are Roger and Norah-Lynne Shann. We moved to the beautiful Isle of Skye in October 2014, but we had been regular visitors to the Island for several years, and always to the area around Waternish in the north west.
We stayed in several different places on the peninsula but close to the village of Stein become our favourite area and for some time we looked for the right property to fulfil our dream of living here.
The property that came available, and which we subsequently bought, suited our plans very well. We set about converting a large 5 bedroomed bungalow into a home for ourselves and a completely self contained holiday let. We had very clear idea as to what sort of holiday home we wanted to create and we used the best we could wherever possible.
Roger was born in Sale, Cheshire (Greater Manchester since 1974) and spent 5 years in Newcastle upon Tyne as a student. On graduating he went to work in Cumbria in 1978 and through various jobs he ended up in Cockermouth where he met Norah-Lynne in 1999.
His hobbies include cycling, fell walking, photography, travel and food and drink. He has an interest too in wildlife and is a member of the RSPB.
Roger took early retirement in 2014 to bring forward the move to Skye. He currently also works part time as a guide in Talisker Distillery.
Norah-Lynne’s interests include travel, walking, photography, food and drink.
Roger and Norah-Lynne married in 2002 and between them have children and grandchildren that are all grown up and scattered around the UK and abroad.
